Structure

OpenAEC consists of three parts that together carry the open source AEC ecosystem: the Foundation, OpenAEC Studio and the community.

Part 01

OpenAEC Foundation being established

The Foundation's goal is to maintain and safeguard the developed tools over the long term. It also builds a broad knowledge network for the construction sector — on a technical, software-technical and architectural level.

The aim is the widest possible coverage, so the sector as a whole benefits from open knowledge and open software.

Part 02

OpenAEC Studio

An IT consultancy that delivers services around the OpenAEC ecosystem: implementation, hosting, custom development and professional support.

The software stays open source; Studio makes sure organisations can put it to work in practice.

Part 03

Community

A large group of people from the construction sector. They maintain their own repositories affiliated with the OpenAEC Foundation, or contribute to repositories that fall under OpenAEC.

The Foundation is also supported by partners and supporters who help make the development possible.

This structure is very much a work in progress — a lot is still being worked out. Want to think along or contribute? We'd love to hear from you.
